We were delighted to receive the notice below from the e-newsletter to parents at Saint Joseph School in Seattle. The screening of Mother Nature’s Child there last November was followed by discussion and parents really got the film’s message!! This is a great example of what parents can organize by themselves, without depending on administrators. A creative step for healthier children!
Let’s “Go Park”! … a spin-off from the screening of “Mother Nature’s Child” Parents &/or Caregivers, A Thursday after school park adventure has sprouted from the November Parent Board sponsored movie “Mother Nature’s Child”. Our “Go Park” adventures are weekly revolving park outings lead by a different parent &/or caregiver and their child (leaders pick the park). Join us on Thursdays when we meet at the Prayer Garden at pick-up time, and then head to a specific park about 3:00- 3:15 p.m. The park leader for the week chooses the park, its adventure and maybe a learning tid-bit/scavenger hunt (a low key additive). We play in a new environment and enjoy getting creative and dirty in the parks surrounding us! This is a drop in, of course-no fee, come as you can activity. We love to have leaders and new parks to explore.
