This is the kind of collaboration we need in every community! We are delighted to report that, once again, Baltimore’s Docs in the Park initiative will be holding an all day event at Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park on Saturday, March 31st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Docs in the Park is a community-supported health initiative that aims to reconnect children and families to nature and encourage outdoor activity.
The initiative features woodland hikes, nature walks, free healthy food along with children’s activities including pogo stick races, jump rope, kickball, rock climbing (sponsored by Outward Bound Baltimore Chesapeake Bay), hula hoops, and more.
A key funder and supporter of Docs in the Park, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States will be on hand to provide free preventative screens and one-one physician consultations. The event is coordinated in partnership with the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Greater Baltimore Children and Nature Collaborative, the Parks & People Foundation and Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks.
