City Market, Onion River Co-op is a member-owned food cooperative located in downtown Burlington, Vermont. The Co-op not only provides conventional, organic and local products but is dedicated to supporting the local economy and enhancing the sustainability of agriculture. The Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge in Sudbury, MA will offer a free public screening of Mother Nature’s Child at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th. A discussion will follow the film. Popcorn and iced tea will be provided!

On August 19th, Mother Nature’s Child, will be shown at the L.L. Bean store in Albany, New York at 7 p.m. One of our favorite featured experts in the film, outdoor educator Brother Yusuf Burgess, will lead a discussion following the film. The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will offer two screenings of Mother Nature’s Child as part of their Wild Family Festival on Sunday, August 21st. The festival focuses on what the natural world of Santa Barbara has to offer children. Learn about local fall program and field trip possibilities offered by community organizations and celebrate fall with a day of natural fun. Nature exploration activities include critter hunts, insect stations, and plenty of unstructured play opportunities in the Museum Backyard. The screenings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Farrand Auditorium. The festival and screenings are free with admission to the museum.
Juniper Hill School for Place Based Education, founded by educator Anne Stires in Alna, Maine, is opening its doors this fall. The school is sponsoring a free public screening of Mother Nature’s Child at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on Sunday, August 21st from 3 – 5 p.m. The screening will include a discussion with educator David Sobel, a featured expert in the film. His newest book,Wild Play, was published this spring.
