Discovery Woods Learning Community in Oakton, Virginia will host a screening of Mother Nature’s Child on Saturday, April 28th at 11 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fairfax. A post-film discussion will be led by Amy Beam, an outdoor educator featured in the film. The screening is one of several activities included in the Discovery Woods Whole Earth Festival that will run from 10 a.m. t0 2 p.m. Other activities will include educational woods walks (scavenger hunts, bird songs, wild edibles); hands-on demonstrations with real animals; yoga in the forest; sensory and art activity stations; djembe drumming; hands-on traditional food demonstrations (fermenting, juicing, wild edibles); rock climbing wall; vendors and artisans — and a local, seasonal lunch of sustainably raised barbecue pulled pork, fruits and vegetables, coconut chia pudding, sweet potato wedges, and dips!
